Frost in the morning with fog over the bay
Boats dressed in veils of white on this winter day
Seabirds at the sign of light sing a winter song
As we lay dreaming right at the break of dawn

Crows from the forest sing high up in the sky
Farmers out in the fields working side by side
Sun shines lighting up the world like a day in May
Could this be winter? Could flowers bloom today?

Feel the cold wind blow as clouds all disappear
Then a cool winter rain, evening now is here
Farmers light a little lamp, home where they belong
When night falls early they sing a winter song
